Government Degree College Babrala-Gunnaur was established in the year 2004-05 at Gunnaur, then in Badaun district and now in Sambhal district. The college was established to meet out people’ aspirations and quest of higher education in the backward rural area. This government college is one in the series of government degree colleges established to attain ideals and values of higher education.
Initially, the college ran from DAV Inter College, Gunnaur. Later, the college building was constructed at Junavai Gram Sabha on Badaun-Delhi road.

The college is affiliated with Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. It runs undergraduate classes in Arts, Commerce and Science faculties. It has got basic facilities, laboratories, and enough and proper resources. In view of changing dimensions of education, a computer lab has been established in the college.
Emphasis is laid on studies, character building and discipline. The students are not only concerned with bookish knowledge, but also remain concerned with social and national duties.
The college makes available facility of scholarship to students belonging to scheduled castes/tribes, other backward classes and poor general category students from the District Social Welfare Officer, District Backward Class Officer and District Minorities Officer.
Students who are not able to take university examination will be treated as failed and not given admission in the next year.
The college has facility of making available printed home work once in the academic session by their subject teachers.
